Here is the final logo I designed for for myself as a portfolio piece along with a couple variations of the original mark. I started off trying to mimic wrought iron tavern puzzles, but it created a chaotic mess, and in the end the "b" of "GbJ" is unnecessary. My only complaint is I wish there were a more appropriate whimsical serif font I could have used to make it feel less Calvin Klein-ish.

The "by" needs to be in the logo on top. "G by J" is the identity, not "GJ".
ReplyDeleteI still don't like the swash at the end of the J, but concede it's necessary.
Neat idea and execution.
I disagree about the "by" being necessary. There are many companies with long acronyms to represent their names that drop the unnecessary words, and just many companies that choose to include them, but the "b" in "GbJ" doesn't make it any more pronounceable or memorable.
